Prof. Jianguo Lin, Imperial College London, UK

Professor Jianguo Lin graduated with a BEng in Agriculture Machinery from Xinjiang Shihezi University in Feb. 1982, an MEng in Engineering Graphics from Taiyuan University of Technology in Jan. 1985, China, and, a PhD in The manufacturing of leather shoes from University of Sheffield (UK) in 1991. He then worked, as a post-doctoral researcher, on high-temperature creep and fatigue for 5 years. In 1996, he joined the University of Birmingham as a lecturer in the Geometric Modelling Group. In 2002, he moved to the Metal Forming Group at Birmingham and then commenced his independent research on metal forming. He was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2004 and Reader in 2006 at Birmingham. In 2008, Lin took up a Full Chair at Imperial College London, as the Head of Mechanics of Materials Division and a member of departmental management committee (04.2008-10.2018); during which, he additionally held a Royal Academy of Engineering and Tata Steel Research Chair (2015-2020). He was elected as a Fellow of Royal Academy of Engineering (UK) in 2013 and European Academy of Science in 2017. Professor Lin is an author or/and co-author for >400 research papers, 2 books and >20 patents. He is a joint Editor-in-Chief of Int. J. of Lightweight Materials and Manufacture (2018-), Editor (2016-2022) & Honorary Editor (2022-) of Cogent Engineering, and an editorial board member for 6 international journals. In September 2024, Professor Lin joined the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), as a Chair Professor, to continue his research in materials processing and modelling technologies.

Prof. Javier LLorca, Technical University of Madrid, Spain

Prof. Javier LLorca obtained his BEng/MSc in Civil Engineering with honors at the Technical University of Madrid in 1983 and his PhD in Materials Science at the same institution in 1986. He was appointed Associate Professor in the Department of Materials Science of the Technical University of Madrid in 1987 and Professor in 1995 and, since 2006, he is the head of the research group on “Advanced Structural Materials and Nanomaterials”. In 2007, he founded the IMDEA Materials Institute and was his director until 2017, when he became the Scientific Director. Prof. LLorca, a Fulbright scholar, is a Fellow of the European Mechanics Society and of the Materials Research Society and a member of the Academia Europaea. He has held visiting positions Brown University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Indian Institute of Science, China Central South University and Yanshan University. Owing to his scientific contributions, he has received numerous awards, including the Leonardo Torres Quevedo National Research Award in Engineering, the Morris Cohen Award from TMS, the Research Award from the Spanish Royal Academy of Sciences, the Distinguished Scientist Award from the Structural Materials Division of TMS, the Research award from the Technical University of Madrid and Career Award from the Spanish Society of Materials (SOCIEMAT). Prof. LLorca is currently Executive Editor of Modelling and Simulation in Materials Science and Engineering and editor of Materials Research Letters. In addition, he is Associate Editor of Composites Science and Technology, Materials Science and Engineering A, International Journal of Multiscale Computational Engineering, Integrating Materials and Manufacturing Innovation, International Journal of Engineering Sciences and Advanced Theory and Simulation.




Prof. Mingwang Fu, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hongkong, China

Mingwang FU (M.W. FU) is a Chair Professor of Advanced Manufacturing in the Dept of Mech. Eng., The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). He is a Fellow of Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) and Hong Kong Institute of Engineers (HKIE). Professor Fu is the Royal Society Wolfson Visiting Fellow and an Associate Director of Research Institute for Advanced Manufacturing at HK PolyU. From 1987 to 1995, he worked as a faculty member in China. Upon completion of his PhD study in the National University of Singapore in 1997, he joined the Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology as a Senior Research Engineer. In Aug 2006, he joined the HK PolyU as a faculty member. Professor Fu is quite active in exploring advanced materials processing, multi-scaled and deformation-based manufacturing, plasticity/damage/fracture/fatigue of materials, FEM modelling and simulation, size effects and micro-mechanics. These efforts aim at seeking for an epistemological understanding of the physical nature behind these disciplines, developing the knowledge in these areas, and successfully addressing a plethora of challenges and bottlenecked issues in these domains, and eventually developing the state-of-the-art manufacturing processes and solutions. His research has benefited the development of the technologies in the above-described fields and led to over 300 journal publications, 6 monographs and one edited volume of the Encyclopedia of Materials: Metals and Alloys published by top publishers. He often gives plenary talk in many international conferences, including ICTP, NumiForm, WCMNM, etc., in different countries.

Prof. Cheng Song, Tsinghua University, China

National Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars, Executive Director of China Materials Research Society/Director of Youth Working Committee, Director of China Vacuum Society/Deputy Director of Film Professional Committee, Member/Deputy Secretary-General of Functional Materials Branch of China Metal Society, and Editor of Rare Metals. His research fields include spintronics materials, surface acoustic wave filters and magneto-acoustic coupling devices.




Prof. Huijun Li, University of Wollongong, Australia

Senior Professor Huijun Li is currently working at University of Wollongong; he is the Associate Dean – Higher Degree Research at Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences. He has over 26 years of research experience in materials science and engineering. This includes expertise in the use of electron microscopy to study the microstructure of materials (particularly metals and ceramics) in areas such as phase transformations and structural evolution, additive manufacturing. He also has extensive experience in mechanical tests, failure analysis and materials development, as well as detailed knowledge of crystallography, welding metallurgy, line pipe steels, nickel based alloys, high entropy alloys, and shape memory alloys. He was named in the 2019 Australian Research magazine as Australian Field leader in both Manufacturing & Machinery and Metallurgy. He has also received UOW Vice Chancellor Award - Research Partnership and Impact Award for the year 2019. Prof Li has been recognised as Australia’s top researcher in metallurgy in 2020, 2021 and 2022 again. Prof Li is currently serving as a Technical Committee Member for both “Standards Australia, MB-028, Additive manufacturing” and “ISO Standards, ISO/TC 261 - Additive manufacturing” since 2020. The joint DMTC shipbuilding project in which Prof Li participated as a chief investigator has earned a High Commendation award at INDO PACIFIC 2022 International Maritime Exposition, this project also won “The Defence science and technology enterprise collaboration award” at the Australian Defence Science, Technology and Research Summit (ADSTAR) July 2022. In 2023, Prof Li was promoted to Senior Professor at University of Wollongong, and in the same year, he was elected as a Member of Australian Research Council (ARC) College of Experts.

Prof. Shouxun Ji, Brunel University of London, UK

Professor Ji’s research has focused on a new dimension in the deployment of advanced materials in alloy design and metallurgical processes using die casting technology (high pressure die casting, low pressure die casting and gravity casting). He has developed collaborations with internationally well-known enterprises, including a variety of manufacturing companies in automotive, aerospace and powered tools in the UK and several European countries. Prof. Ji received the only innovation award from CMF UK in 2017 for his contribution in developing novel aluminium alloys. He also received the award for ‘Person of the Year 2022’ from International Magnesium Science and Technology Society for the achievement in magnesium research and development, and the 2023 award of excellence in the commercial cast product category from International Magnesium Association (IMA) for high temperature magnesium alloy small engine cylinder. Prof. Ji has authored over 200 publications, over 30 presentations (16 invited talks and plenary lectures) in international conferences/workshops. He has been involved in 10 technical and organising committee in international conferences. Prof. Ji has 29 registered patents in WO, EU, UK, and CN. He is the Editor, Associate editor, and Editorial committee member of 5 scientific journals and invited experts as research grant reviewer in 6 countries in Europe and Asia. 




Prof. Ali Reza Kamali, University of Cambridge, UK

.Ali Kamali is a Senior Researcher at the University of Cambridge, also a Double Hundred Distinguished Professor at the School of Metallurgy, Northeastern University (NEU), with a diverse research background spanning green materials synthesis, sustainability, electrochemistry, nanostructures and technology/knowledge transfer from academia to industry. As such, Ali conducts research mainly on developing green technologies for the sustainable production of advanced materials for energy and environmental applications, and has invented methods for green and low-cost production of materials such as graphene, nanodiamonds, silicon nanostructures, advanced metallic alloys, hydrogen, and clean technologies for converting waste plastic materials into nanostructured materials to be used in energy storage devices, and also water purification applications. He also serves as Director, Chief Scientist, or Consultant to a number of advanced materials companies. Ali has published more than 150 scientific articles and 50 patents, and received several awards, including the Khwarizmi International Award, National Expert Award, NSFC Excellent Young Scientist Award, and The Rose Award of Shenyang. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry.

Prof. Hongping Li, COMAC Shanghai Aircraft Design & Research Institute, China

Li Hongping, Deputy Chief Designer/Senior Engineer of COMAC Shanghai Aircraft Design & Research Institute, China, voting member of PRI NADCAP HT/MTL/MMM Task Group and voting member of SAE Aeronautical Metal Materials AMS(B/D/E/F/G) Committee. She has experienced the development of C919 and ARJ21 models, mainly engaged in the research and development and application of international advanced metal materials, and the special engineering application research of national large aircraft materials. She has practical experience in the field of aeronautics metal material metallurgy, structural application, specification system, data system and airworthiness verification at home and abroad, and has won the second-class merit of the first flight of C919 aircraft and the ARJ21 aircraft development contribution award.





Prof. Guojun Wang, Aluminum Corporation of China, China

Wang Guojun, professor-level senior engineer, chief engineer of Chinalco Group, Secretary-General of Advanced Aluminum Alloy Collaborative Innovation Alliance, was selected into the national major talent plan. He presided over more than 10 national or provincial-level projects, published 5 monographs, published more than 120 papers, authorized 25 patents, and revised more than 60 standards. It won 12 national and provincial science and technology awards. He is a member of the Chinese Society of Materials Research, a member of the Plastic Engineering Branch of the Chinese Society of Mechanical Engineering, a master 's tutor in materials science and engineering, and a director of the National Magnesium Alloy Processing and Application Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance. He is mainly responsible for the process technology and quality assurance of aluminum alloy and magnesium alloy pressure processing products, as well as the research and development of new materials and new technologies in the direction of aluminum alloy and magnesium alloy.

Prof. Bin Jiang, Chongqing University

Jiang Bin, Ph.D. supervisor, Dean of Light Metal Research Institute of Chongqing University, Deputy Director of National Magnesium Alloy Materials Engineering Technology Research Center, Director of Materials Science Department, academic and technical leader of Chongqing, and leading expert of Chongqing Chief Expert Studio. He has been engaged in the research of new magnesium alloy materials and advanced preparation and processing technology for a long time, and vigorously promoted the development of new magnesium alloy materials and their large-scale application in automobile, rail transit, electronic communication, aerospace, key equipment and other fields. He has presided over many national, provincial and ministerial projects such as general projects and key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, special topics of national key R&D programs, national 863 projects, sub-projects of national 973 projects, national science and technology support programs, national international science and technology cooperation projects and major scientific and technological projects in Chongqing. He has organized many international and domestic conferences on magnesium alloys, made many invitation reports at international academic conferences, and served as a reviewer of several academic journals. He has published more than 180 SCI papers in PNAS, Acta Materilia, Corrosion Science, Scripta Materialia, MMTA, MSEA, Journal of Alloys and Compound, Materials and Design, Applied Surface Science and other journals, applied for more than 70 invention patents, and authorized more than 40. Won international awards and provincial and ministerial awards 6 times.




Prof. Gang Liu, Harbin Institute of Technology, China

Prof. Gang Liu is currently Vice Dean of School of Future Technology at Harbin Institute of Technology. He is active in professional societies, serving as a Vice-Chairman of governing council of the China Society for Technology of Plasticity (CSTP) and chair of CSTP Pipe Forming Technology Division, having served as the Chair of Organizing Committee of international conference TUBEHYDRO 2015 and ICNFT 2012. His major research interests include metal forming theory and technology, particularly in the area of tube hydroforming, warm gas forming of light alloys and shell hydroforming. His work has made contributions to understanding of defect mechanism and process optimization of hydroforming, and to presenting control methods for hydroforming precision, material microstructure and mechanical properties.

Prof. Xinhua Liu, University of Science and Technology Beijing, China

Xinhua Liu, Winner of National Outstanding Youth Fund, Director of Key Laboratory of Advanced Materials Preparation Technology of Ministry of Education, and Vice President of New Materials Technology Research Institute. He has been engaged in the basic theory and application research of new technologies and new processes for short-flow preparation and processing of high-performance metal materials for a long time, enriching and developing new academic ideas for short-flow preparation and processing of high-performance metal materials by controlled solidification and controlled forming, and has achieved innovative research results in the short-flow preparation and processing of high-performance copper-aluminum composite materials, high-performance copper alloys and high-performance difficult-to-process rare and precious metal materials, and has been applied in industrial production. Won the second prize of national technological invention and the second prize of scientific and technological progress, and the first prize of provincial and ministerial level; He was selected into the National Outstanding Talents Program and undertook more than 20 scientific research projects including the National Key R&D Program, the 863 Program and the National Natural Fund. Published 70 papers in JAC, JMPT, MMTA/B, MSEA, JMR, Corrosion Science and other journals;




Prof. Jun Wang, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, China

Wang Jun, professor and doctoral supervisor of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, is the winner of the National Outstanding Youth Fund. He is currently the deputy director of the National Key Laboratory, a member of the key special expert group of the National Key R&D Program, a member of the National Industrial Foundation Committee, and the chairman of the Jiangsu Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering Society. I graduated from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics with a bachelor's degree and received my doctorate in 2007. He has been engaged in scientific research in University of California, University of Wisconsin, and leica geosystems Company. Since returning to China, he has been selected as Professor TP of Jiangsu Province, SC Talent Plan of Jiangsu Province, Jieqing of Jiangsu Province, Young Talents of National Major Talent Project, National Jieqing, etc. Won the title of the fifth outstanding young engineer award and outstanding scientific and technological worker in mechanical industry. Mainly engaged in digital detection technology and equipment, intelligent robot technology and equipment, computer vision and graphics, machine (depth) learning methods and their industrial applications. Presided over major research plan integration projects, key projects, Jieqing projects and national key R&D projects of NSFC; Published more than 100 SCI academic papers; More than 20 authorized American patents; Publish 2 monographs; Take the lead in formulating 3 standards. Prof. Zhiming Li, Central South University, China

Dr. Li Zhiming, professor of Central South University, supervisor of doctoral/master students. The research direction is the design, processing, structure, mechanical behavior and multifunctional characteristics of metal materials. In the field of international metal materials, innovative ideas such as metastable two-phase high-entropy alloy, interstitial high-entropy alloy, metastable engineering strategy, bi-directional phase transformation, nano-duplex analysis, high-stress twinning, super-interstitial solid solution, and high-toughness soft magnetic alloy design are put forward, which provides many new ideas for the development of new high-performance alloys. Related achievements have been published in Nature(2), Science(1), Nature Communications (8), Science Advances (2), Advanced Materials (3), Acta Materials (24) and other magazines (more than 150 articles in total); Authorized more than 20 invention patents at home and abroad; Invited to give lectures on more than 60 academic reports at international academic conferences related to materials science; As a reviewer of more than 60 academic journals and a project reviewer of more than 10 international research funding institutions; He has presided over the national project of introducing overseas high-level young talents, the general project of National Natural Science Foundation, the Jieqing project of Hunan Natural Science Foundation, the project of leading talents in scientific and technological innovation in Hunan Province, and the research and development and industrialization projects entrusted by high-tech enterprises.



Assoc. Prof. Jinwu Kang, Tsinghua University, China

Kang Jinwu, associate professor/doctoral supervisor, received a master's degree from Northeastern University in 1995, a doctorate from Tsinghua University in 1998, and was employed in Tsinghua University in the same year; From 2001 to 2003, he was a visiting scholar at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. At present, he is the deputy director of CAE Simulation Committee of China Simulation Society, the deputy director of Beijing Center of National Digital Design and Manufacturing Innovation Center, and the editorial board of Materials and other periodicals. The research fields mainly focus on computer aided engineering (CAE) of casting process, advanced aluminum alloy and magnesium alloy forming technology, additive manufacturing, intelligent casting process design and simulation optimization, casting simulation based on artificial intelligence, etc. He has participated in or presided over a number of scientific research projects, including the pre-selection project of Climbing B by the State Science and Technology Commission, the key research project of the State Planning Commission, the national science and technology support plan, the 973 plan, major special projects and the National Natural Science Foundation. The scientific research achievements have been popularized and applied in many major national projects, and about 200 papers have been published in domestic and foreign journals, many papers have won excellent paper awards, and four scientific research achievements have won provincial and ministerial science and technology awards such as Beijing and the Ministry of Education.

Prof. Yuqiang Chen, Hunan University of Science and Technology, China

Chen Yuqiang, professor, doctoral supervisor, director of Hunan Engineering Research Center, vice president of the Graduate School of Hunan University of Science and Technology, was elected as the leading talent of scientific and technological innovation in Hunan Province, the winner of Jieqing in Hunan Province, the "young talent of Huxiang" in Hunan Province, the chief expert of expert workstation in Hunan Province, and the young backbone teacher in Hunan Province, and was elected as the executive director of Hunan Mould Design and Manufacturing Society. The main research direction is light alloy processing technology and properties, damage mechanism and microstructure characterization. He presided over more than 30 scientific research projects, including 3 national self-funded projects (including 1 key project of the National Natural Science Foundation), Hunan Outstanding Youth Fund, Hunan Innovation and Entrepreneurship Technology Investment Project, Hunan Huxiang Young Talents Program, Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone Project, Xiangtan Major Scientific and Technological Innovation Project, Xiangtan "Revealing the Top" Project, and won 1 second prize of Hunan Higher Education Teaching Achievements and 1 third prize of Hunan Natural Science Award. In International Journal of Plasticity, International Journal of Fatigue, Materials Science and Engineering A, Journal of Alloys and Components, Material S and Design and other academic journals have published more than 60 academic papers, obtained more than 20 authorized patents and more than 10 software registration rights. As the head of the research team, he won the "Excellent Team Award of Hunan Entrepreneurship and Innovation Competition".
